凉州词（王之涣）
黄河远上白云间，
一片孤城万仞山。
羌笛何须怨杨柳，
春风不度玉门关。
小时候读到或听到这首诗，心里美滋滋的，因为它描写的是自己的家乡。再后来读听这首诗，心里满是伤感与不平：难道生活在贫困地区的人们就注定被冷落，被遗忘？现在听两岁半的女儿朗诵这首诗，我不禁微笑。女儿的心里肯定什么感觉都没有，而我以前的伤感与不平全似乎全消失了，浮在眼前的是一些我心中的英雄们。他们的胸怀可容得世界，他们的博爱能穿越时空。这些英雄就是CTEF 和CHIME 的成员们及其它关爱贫苦者的人士们。
我是2004年初通过CHIME了解到CTEF的。从此成为CTEF 义务人员，负责甘肃学校项目。以下是CTEF资助的甘肃学校的简要汇报。
2004年，6 学校，总金额 184，834 元，已竣工。
2005年，2 学校，总金额 97，000 元，已竣工。
2006年，2学校，总金额 134，600元，已竣工。
2008年，4学校，总金额 251，870元，已竣工。
2009年，3学校，总金额 197，630元，施工进行中。
注：2009年还有2 所学校（总金额：223，100元）已通过CTEF 会议审批，合同书以发出。另为还有10多份学校审请资料有待提交CTEF。若有人好奇2007年为何间断，那是因为我可爱的女儿出生了。我将全部的精力放在了她身上。
看看这些数字，我心里充满欣慰与感激。谢谢CTEF成员们的辛勤工作。更感谢CHIME成员及其它人士的热心资助。现在又是这个特殊的时刻，让我们一起放起歌喉，再唱一次“爱的奉献”。是的，只要人人都献出一点爱，世界将变成美好人间，即便是在“一片孤城万仞山”里。
(Editor: Qiaolan grew up in Jingtai, Gansu province. As a child, she experienced and deeply understands the need of kids from remote, education deprived area. After she learned about CTEF, she was touched and decides to help out with the mission of CTEF. Qiaolan and her husband visited her hometown in 2005 after initially screening the applications for school renovations. In addition to rebuilding schools, CTEF also has an ongoing mobile library project in Jingtai. CTEF teams up with XinXing (新星), a group of retired teachers in Jingtai. XinXing is an NGO emphasizing the importance of education. It is helping CTEF to supervise the construction in the Gansu. They have visited the three schools that are under construction. The construction is going slow but the quality is good.)
